Overview
Other Worlds is a solo-developed 2D puzzler created in Unity, and is currently in development. The game takes place after a experiment went wrong, causing our universe to be spread across 3 different universes. Our player can travel from universe to universe with the press of the up and down arrow keys. The player must figure out how to traverse through these worlds by solving puzzles, finding which universe allows for progression, and by avoiding obstacles along the way. Completing levels will reward the player with a new item that will help them succeed in other parts of the world.

World 1

World 2

World 3

Pictured above shows the intro level, separated by worlds. While all three worlds in a level look similar, there are minor differences that the player will need to discover to progress. For example, circled in blue are the same pillars blocking progression, however this pillar does not exist in World 2, which allows the player to advance.

Pictured above is what the level selection menu will look like. The player will first arrive here after completing the introduction level that acclimates the player to the mechanics. Once a level is completed, the player will be sent here, where they can go through one of the six exits, each blocked by a barrier of some sort. Passing a barrier will send the player to a new level. Each barrier can be surpassed by an item the player can collect at the end of each level:
-
Shade requires a lantern to pass through
-
Lava requires an umbrella to pass through
-
Quicksand requires boots to pass through
-
Doors require a key to pass through
-
A breakable wall requires a rock to break through
-
A gap with wooden pegs require rope and a plank to build a bridge and pass through
